Participants will meet on Tuesday\, Wednesday\, and Friday evenings starting September 10 at the North Fort Myers Recreation Center (2000 North Recreation Park Way). \nSpace is limited and pre-registration is required. To register\, see below. \nAbout Walk With Ease:\nWalk With Ease is a structured walking program from the Arthritis Foundation. The program teaches participants how to safely make physical activity part of their everyday lives. Walk With Ease is designed to help people living with arthritis better manage their pain and is also ideal for people without arthritis who want to make walking a daily habit. \nWalk With Ease helps participants develop successful exercise routines by offering support\, information\, and other tools. The eight-week group series is led by a certified instructor. Participants learn proper stretching and pain management techniques\, build stamina and increase their walking pace. The program can even be modified to meet the needs of individual participants so that each person can develop an exercise routine that fits their unique goals. \nTo Register:\nPre-registration is required. Participants will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings\, starting September 16 at the Lake Kennedy Senior Center (400 Santa Barbara Blvd.) \nAbout Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention:\nTai Chi is a low-impact form of Chinese martial arts that involves slow\, controlled\, flowing movements. Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention is designed for adults 60 and over to reduce pain and stiffness from arthritis\, build strong muscle around joints\, increase energy and prevent other health problems.   Tai Chi can also help improve hand-eye coordination\, enhance health and fitness\, improve balance\, reduce stress and provide a gentle aerobic workout.   Tai Chi for Arthritis for Falls Prevention is an 8-week\, 16 session workshop. \nFunding for this program is provided by a grant for disease prevention and health promotion under the Older Americans Act\, Title IIID\, through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
