Open Positions:

Long Term Care Services Specialist

The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida (AAASWFL) seeks a strong communicator with human services experience, excellent interpersonal skills and initiative for a Long Term Care Services Specialist vacancy.

Completion of an online assessment is required for all potential applicants (see below).

The Long Term Care Services Specialist is responsible for screening older adults and adults with disabilities for Medicaid and non-Medicaid related services.  These assessments are performed over the phone, using a standardized screening tool.  These specialists strive to provide efficient, timely, and consumer-friendly services to individuals in need of government-funded elder care and disability services.   In addition to excellent customer service and communication skills, Long Term Care Services Specialists must also have strong computer talents to effectively enter and track client data. Applications should have related experience as a caseworker, case manager, intake specialist, or have other familiarity with the long term care client population.

Bilingual SHINE Outreach/Administrative Specialist

The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida (AAASWFL) seeks an outgoing, detail-oriented bilingual (English/Spanish) communicator to perform outreach, fulfill administrative tasks, and complete reports. SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a program that provides counseling on Medicare and health insurance Issues for older adults.

Completion of an online assessment is required for all potential applicants (see below).

This individual assists the SHINE Program Manager by providing overall administrative support, including data entry, scheduling, and providing support assistance to volunteers.   This Outreach/Administrative Specialist is trained to act as a SHINE counselor and will assist Spanish-speaking clients with their Medicare insurance issues. Strong communication skills are important as this individual will conduct presentations in both English and Spanish, and attend health fairs and community meetings as a representative of both AAASWFL and the SHINE program. Applicants should be team players with excellent public speaking, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
